~ ~ ABOUT US ~ ~
About me, actually. I am a bookseller in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada), specialising in mostly used, out-of-print books in the sciences and social sciences with a heavy focus on politics and radical movements, and also works in French and German. I also carry a large selection of Academic, Scholarly Journals and offer unusual and interesting items from a very broad range of subjects. If you can't find what you're looking for I also offer a free search service, which both local students and friends in particular have taken advantage of. email or telephone (details below) with an author and/or title and if I can locate a copy (I generally do), I promise to give you a quote. If I find a copy locally, I will simply provide you with a phone number and contact at no cost. I go out of my way to satisfy my clients, and have been known to take three city transit buses one way to deliver a volume of poetry into the hands of an elderly gentleman in a wheelchair, on a quite frigid -30 degree C. winter day.
About half my total stock of 35,000 books is browsable from the catalogue links at the sidebar to the right. Click All Catalogues to view the complete list of subject areas. Each of those hyperlinks will take you to the Biblio.com website where you can order any item listed with a credit card, a personal cheque, or using PayPal. If you find something of interest, you might want to contact me directly by Email, or by telephone at 204-452-8082. For lighter and thinner items you can often save many dollars on shipping by contacting me directly. At any rate, direct contact with booksellers is *always* preferable to ordering through multi-dealer listing sites that charge mostly poor booksellers with hefty commissions and listing fees.
As you can see from the feature area of the FrontPage, I am also interested and concerned about many issues in the world around us. A news buff and founder/moderator of the alternative news list-serv "Fresh Ink," I post what I consider informative articles on a wide range of issues. If you want to stay on top of issues concening the environment, labour, contemporary politics and economics, as well as receive book reviews on the most recent releases, please consider subscribing to Fresh Ink here. Subscribers are from as far away as China and Australia, and as close as a neighbour a few doors down my street.
Books and reading have been lifelong passions of mine, so some of the feature material you will see on the Front Page is also naturally book-related. I tend to post items in the feature section that I also send to Fresh Ink, so if you always wanted to subscribe to the list but could never muster up the courage to do so, you can read perhaps 5% of what I disperse there by bookmarking this site and visiting regularly.
