I've used this oven for several years, and it's probably the best design available in the world today. Heating up as fast as a conventional electric oven, it will attain temperatures exceeding 450 degrees Farenheit in the full sun.
A Solar Oven is simply a heat trap for sunlight. It is designed with reflectors to concentrate light energy from the sun into an enclosed space with a tempered glass door. This space -- an insulated baking chamber -- contains your food and cooking vessel.
As long as the sun is shining brightly enough so that you can see your shadow, it will cook.
Food is awesome when cooked naturally using the power of the SUN!
With ever increasing energy costs, a solar oven is an innovative way to reduce expenses. It works even in wintertime -- I've had my oven at 300 degrees Farenheit while sitting in a snowbank, more than enough heat to slow-cook a casserole. Ideal for home, cottage or camping. The reflectors slip on and off in under a minute and are stackable, taking up minimal room. With an all-cast iron or all-steel cooking vessel, some vittles and a recipe, and a bit of sun, you are all set!

The main components of a solar oven are the weatherproof outer shell which is cast from a mold, an insulated baking chamber lined with recycled printer's plates, painted black, sealed with high temp caulking, and fitted with a tempered glass door with a wooden handle, and finally the reflectors which are highly polished (anodized) aluminum. If handled with care, the oven will last a lifetime.
