...we are Indians because we believe that the things of the world are made for everyone. It is like saying that since we are all equal, the means of living should also be equal....Because of this, we believe that the land, just as the air, the water and all the other things which keep us alive should not be only for the few. The land should not be owned, but should be communal....This is why we like the reservations. Because there, the lands must all be shared out between all the members of the community.
